Antique President George Washington & First Lady Martha Washington Porcelain Salt & Pepper porcelain shakers, unmarked, issued in 1889 to commemorate the centennial of the inauguration of the first President and First Lady of the United States. The centennial of George Washington’s swearing-in as first president of the United States [April 30, 1789] was broadly celebrated with numerous exhibitions, artworks, and souvenirs.
These antique shakers are 2.1/2″ [6.3cm] high, hand-made cork stoppers in base. No chips or cracks, some gold wear, a few brown stains under glaze, good+/ very good condition. See photos
